With Abanathy Photography, LLC, we offer more than 15 years experience bringing both creative photographer and knowledgeable graphic designer whose goal it is to make you look your best for whatever the occasion may be. We offer professional portrait photography to Murray, Kentucky and surrounding areas. Friendly, one-on-one sessions in a relaxed environment, followed by easy online viewing and home delivery/easy pickup.
Our photography services are available in-studio or on-location (by appointment only) and include:

About the Owners
Patrick Abanathy, Co-Owner, Photographer, Writer
“A Kodak disposable camera, brought along on a high school band trip in 1996, made me realize my passion to capture and accentuate life’s wonderful moments and beauty through the lens of a camera.
Following high school, I went on to minor in photography at Murray State University as a compliment to my major in print journalism. Three of my five years at MSU were spent in the studio, around town, and in the darkroom working with both still life and models.
Following graduation in 2002, I was lucky enough to be able to apply both my major and minor as a reporter/photographer for a small town newspaper in Yerington, Nevada. During the next six years, I not only took award-winning pictures for the paper, but also wedding and professional portraits for friends and family.
While I did, and still do, enjoy writing, my desire to be a full-time professional photographer got the best of me in 2008. It was then my wife, Liz, and I headed back to Kentucky to fulfill the dream of starting our own business. Since then, we have both worked tirelessly in every spare minute, through the wind, ice, and heat to make that dream a reality.”

“A love for art and communication led me to my passion for working with amazing people and applying graphic design skills. In 2003, I earned my associate degree in graphic communications where I developed design and printing skills for diverse industries. During my years in college, I worked in framing, preservation and art disciplines. I continued my education where I earned my bachelor’s degree in communication.
I also love brining creativity to the professional world. With experience in advertising, publishing and marketing, I have produced materials for businesses ranging from one-person start-ups, to large corporations. My design experience spans many mediums, from brochures to billboards, to package design to wedding invitations. I enjoy keeping current with tech development, including Adobe Cloud platform updates, incorporation of AI, and social media trends.
Following more than 20 years in the field, I am still doing what I love and, coupled with my training in photo framing and fine art, I know how to bring out the best in each person’s unique portrait…and how to edit photographs where inner beauty and the depth of personality and character will shine through. I also love assisting Patrick during photo sessions and weddings. Working with our wonderful clients brings me joy as I help facilitate new memories and bring out their best.”
