A wonderful vacay! Now, I’m ready for fall!
What an wonderful, rejuvenating, exciting week! Liz and I just had the most amazing time in Boston and New York City visiting friends and family! It was a time for laughter, a time for hugs, a time for board games, a time for delicious eats, a time for a brief head cold (boo), a time for karaoke, a time for sightseeing, and a time for reflection near Ground Zero on Thursday evening. It was a time for a lot of things including, as most vacations offer, a time for renewal and reinvigoration! The latter, of course, easily lends itself to the upcoming fall sessions for Abanathy Photography, LLC and “You” by Abanathy Photography, LLC!
That’s right! We have many, many fun things just around the corner in our studio and around town! So, I figure, this week, as I am still getting my bearings after a week far removed from Western Kentucky, I might give a sneak peek at what is in store in the coming months! Exact dates and pricing have yet to be set, so take this opportunity as a tentative note in your calendars. Also, keep in mind we plan to offer student discounts for our wonderful MSU students!
Fall Mini-Sessions in the Park
When the leaves begin to change for the fall season, it is such a magical time. I sooo love the fall with the crisp air, beautiful leaves and anticipation of bonfires and fall festivities! With that in mind, I could not help but bring out my camera and offer to capture your family (or just you) in a wonderful outdoor fall setting. The 30-minute sessions will include the option to order prints shortly thereafter. These make great portraits of your family to keep or give as gifts (or have printed on Christmas cards). They also make great gifts from college students who might be far from home or enjoying their first year away from mom and dad. A date will be set when the leaves begin to change, and I believe that will not be far off, so keep checking (and “liking”) our Facebook page for updates!
Me in my Costume Mini Sessions
We enjoyed last year’s mini sessions so much! Seeing all the kiddos in their creative, and wonderful costumes makes us excited to hold more mini sessions this year! We will announce a set number of 20-minute time slots and allow you to make your reservation. Then, on Trick-or-Treat night (whichever date Murray designates this year), you bring your little one in their Halloween costume and we take some wonderful portraits. Next, you pick your three favorites on a screen and we print them while you wait! One 8×10, two 5x7s, and one digital download will be yours to take home! Christmas Portrait Mini Sessions
Similar to the Me in my Costume mini sessions, these sessions are a family event in front of the Christmas tree! These, we usually schedule in late November and early December just in time for the holidays. It is a quick 30-minute session after which you will receive one free digital download and a link to an online gallery. Online, you will have the option to order very nice custom portrait Christmas cards in a variety of styles, as well as a variety of other custom photo products. “You” For the Holidays Sessions
Following all the wonderful family portraits, it might be time to consider something a little more intimate and sexy, for him or her. This year, we would like to offer our “You” by Abanathy Photography, LLC clients the opportunity to create a wonderful, unique Christmas (or Valentine’s Day) gift for that special someone!
For this, we plan to hold several mini sessions in a local hotel room where clients will arrive, receive professional hair and makeup, pose for several beautiful, fun, sexy, private portraits, then, shortly thereafter, receive several professionally edited prints of their choice.
We plan to schedule several “You” For the Holidays sessions (likely in October and/or November) so keep checking back to reserve your spot. Be sure to “like”, “share” and keep up with our “You” Facebook page to receive updates!
Also, as this endeavor will require us to book locations and professionals outside of our studio, we could use your help in gauging interest. If you or a friend might be interested in booking a “You” for the Holidays session, send us a quick private message, either through Facebook or via our abanathyphoto@gmail.com email address. These messages are confidential and will not obligate you to book a session, but it will help us determine pricing and interest and allow us to plan accordingly. And, while your vote does not obligate you to book a session, it will give you first choice of time slots!
